Hey there to you all! So good to chat with you all yesterday! It was good for the spirits...and a perfect little ending to a great Christmas!
Loved the pictures that you sent....wanted to show you a little bit of how my Christmas went for me....
1. hauling our Christmas tree from the church to have it at least for Christmas eve. Good thing we only live a few blocks from the church. haha
2. Hna. Kemp's mom sent her a gingerbread house kit. Not quite up to my usual standard, but fun nevertheless :) Hna. Risco got a little crazy with the snow...
3. Here in Chile their big celebration is on Christmas Eve. They have a huge dinner late at night. This is a family of members from the neighboring ward. Rice, Chicken Cordon Bleau, green salad, potato salad, fruit....son served in California....pretty Americanized. They've been feeding gringos for awhile..But they are a really fun, energetic fam.
4. Christmas morning...."viejo pascuero" came
5. Needless to say we were quite surprised when we found out the host family for Christmas Day dinner had killed one of their huge dogs to eat. Hna. Kemp was freaking out for quite awhile until she found out everyone was playing a joke on her....That's not a dog hanging in front of your eyes. That'd be a goat. But it wasn't a joke that we were going to eat the goat for dinner. Turns out it's completely normal to cook things like that...especially in the south of Chile...and in Argentina. hm. Turned out like a smoked jerky type flavor. Pretty good.
6. family photo. aw. menos uno.
Weelllllll......love you all so much! Hope you make some good predictions for me.. xoxox
