Feliz Navidad Y Prospero Ano!!

Hola Familia!
So I guess since no phone calls go out from the MTC - they let us all have some time for letter writing on Christmas Day!  And what a Christmas it has been!! It definitely has been a different kind of Christmas & I couldn't help but think about what was going on at home - & what you all were doing - but it definitely wasn't the "worst day of my life", as some had predicted either. :)
Christmas Eve, was great.  And can I just point out a "tender mercy"? What were they serving for Christmas Eve dinner? Nothing more than pizza and soup.  Wahoo!  Then we had a really fun and spiritual devotional - with lots of singing (12 days of Christmas that the M-T-C gave to me - including the first day of a "rock solid testimony").  This place is so cleaver.  Also the MTC Presidency and their wives spoke of the gifts of the heart that our Heavenly Father gives us (i.e. service and conversion) & how we are supposed to share those with others.  Then they gave us all a bag of popcorn & put on Mr. Kruger's Christmas (Mom, you would've loved it :)!!)  Haha so good.
Then Christmas morning we woke up in our Christmas Pj's and opened presents.  Thank you SO much!! Ah! I love all of it!!  (perfume = amazing!) & jewelry = so cute!  You all are dee best! oh, & the companion gifts turned out perfect - thanks for finishing those! :)
Then we had a breakfast, then TALENT SHOW! Don's ask me how, but yours truly got a lead role in one of them- haha jk - but really.  Some people in my & another district threw together a musical little somthing, somethin...we mixed pacobell's canon with theNoel - complete with guitars & a violin.  I sang soprano & two other girls & 2 boys sang also.  It wasn't anything that rolled your socks up and down, but it was good.  Nothing compared to the Native Russian Elders who did a rendition of Lady Gaga's Romance song except missionary style (on the Chorus it's YOU MISSIONARY NOW) then there were a ton of singers & guitars & fun talents.  Even a few magic tricks were thrown in - probably just to make up for the fact I didn't get to see Jenny's kids do any this year!
Then we had a huge Christmas Turkey dinner - complete with some delicious date nut balls for dessert.  After, we had a simply fabulous devotional.  Elder Russel M. Nelson and his wife spoke about missionary work & the birth of our Savior.  It truly is such an honor to be His representative right now!  It made me think of how lucky I really am to be starting out my mission during this time of year...to be focused on the birth of whose church we are all apart of.  It's been such a big helper to get in the right mindset, & I think this Christmas I've grown to really understand the significance of the day.
Seems like everyday here I'm humbled more & more & more & realize how "dependent" I really am on my Savior - for everything that I am & anything that I can become during my mission & beyond that.  And I'm sure my testimony will grow even more during my time here.
Thank you all so much for the support & love.  It's meant the world!  I love you all SO MUCH!!  Can't wait to hear from you! Hermana Kelli Child
