It's Now Up To Me and Hermana Sieverts!

Hi HI HI HI!!

Another week has FLOWN by...holy smokes. Who would have thought that it's been a week since I saw your pretty little faces?? You are all fabulous. Thanks for the l.o.v.e. and support. Sounds like we've got a futbol star in the house! good work! Good luck with the championships Curt! Also, I'm glad you all haven't floated away with all the water there is....Jed, please don't make Amanda go water skiing in the freezing cold pineview if she doesn't want to (even though she seems pretty hard core with the shooting - watch out. She might be the one to keep you humble after all.) Clint & Rach - good to see you both! good luck running rach! Hna Sieverts is a maniac when it comes to running and biking it appears. She's done the Ogden Marathon before (and she says it's the best one by far!) and she also did the LO to JA....hooray! You two have any fun plans for the summer? Momma--Visiting teaching workshop = success. Sounds super clever and way to go on the gloves! Good luck continuing with the RS. You and dad are heroes. Keep up the good work Pops! You are lookin slim in those pics. Mitch - hopefully you're doin alright with cambios and baptisms and stuff. Keep focusing on the love of the work and the numbers will come...but they won't mean anything if you focus on the numbers and expect the love to come. POWER TO YOU ALL

Hermana Hardy has officially LEFT. :( We just found out about cambios this morning, and it turns out that me and Hna. Sieverts will be staying together after all. It'll be interesting and an adventure, since we are both pretty knew to this whole mission thing! :) She has two more cambios than I do. But, she is a hard worker, organized and obedient...so if we can both just up our Spanish and teaching we'll be unstoppable. GAH! We'll be in the house together with Hna. Robertson and a newbie. I'm pretty nervous to take care of the amazing people we're teaching right now, but keep praying for me, and I know the Lord will help us out!

This past week Bryan Aravena was baptized. It was beautiful! He is a brother of Carolin Aravena, a recent convert, and a son of a less-active member who was killed in the earthquake. He approached us shortly after the baptism of his sister, desiring for us to baptize him. Although he studies in Talca, we took advantage of his weekend trips to Consti, and our weekly meetings in Talca to share with him as much as we could. He is an outstanding teenager with such a sincere heart and a desire to learn more and be on a good path for the rest of his life. He is very honest and open and has expressed to us his desires to be a ward missionary, attend seminary and to serve a mission in a couple of years. Since the first time he shared with us, he expressed that he wanted to be a missionary like us; what an incredible blessing it has been to teach him simply the restored gospel and the power of the Atonement that can change his life. Even though we had some concerns about him being baptized so quickly without sharing with us very much, he appeared to understand what repentance meant in his life and the commitment he would be making. We're so excited for him and his future!

This past week the amazing ward of Consti had a talent show. It was HILARIOUS... I don't know if it's because I haven't been in the US for awhile, or what, but the Chileans seem to have very few inhibitions when it comes to this kind of thing. From a missionary standpoint it was a great activity because there were so many less actives and investigators and recent converts...and from a normal perspective it was a great activity too....since people were being crazy and really "talented" at the same time. The Relief Society (sociedad de socorro) had a song where they all dressed up in long, gross wigs and danced around to the lyrics "loca loca loca" and they had a cheering section with posters and everything saying "SOC" haha. Also, the other hit number was all of the YM-YW doing a dance to a remix of popular songs. It was really cool! and they all really enjoyed doing it!

Other than that, we're just pluggin away, gonna work the best and hardest we can!

Tell SJ that I got her letter and am responding asap..I'm SO excited for her! I'm sure the invites are great and I'm sure the location is amazing. Be sure to make me look cute in my cut out for the shower :) I love her!! Tell her that the temple is great-- and that it's not important to understand what's going on the first time you go through. It'll come.... :) but it's incredible what happens inside!!

I send all of my love and testimony of the gospel. It truly brings the perfect kind of peace and happiness into our lives. Thank goodness we have this knowledge!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Hermana Child
